Some of you may already be aware that when it comes to RPGs, I love to make each and every game an amazing visual experience alongside the epic story told. You may have seen some of my games here at the shop or at various conventions where I have been running these games for the past years (PAGE, Nova, etc.). With all of these games I want my players to feel like they have stepped into the world and feel as excited as being part of a live-play or other event with amazing terrain, miniatures and interactive items.
When I wrote my book, The Tremendous Tome of Epic Dungeons, I wanted to show off these amazing layouts from creators all across the world and let players know that these type of games aren't limited to just episodes of Critical Role or Gen Con special events. You can have them in all aspects of your game!
So why am I rambling on about all this? Well, we are going to be trying some new events here at Games and Stuff focusing on these Scenic Miniature Role-Playing Games (as I have taken to calling them). Starting this summer, we will be doing some feature games that I will be running that will give players an over the top, premium experience. These events will be held in one of our private rooms, feature a 5-6 hour session, have 2-3 different scene changes in full detail, an epic storyline, and more! We want this event to feel like the best game you have ever played (I hope) and have you coming back for more!
These events are also going to serve as story intros to a whole weekend of RPGs with great terrain, minis and more in October (10-11 weekend) where you can participate in various games as well as a massive story driven City Siege that will run across two days!
The first game will be held in July. This will be a modified Dungeons and Dragons game (using my modified rules that allow for greater interaction with the miniature aspect). It will begin setting up the story that will culminate with the event in October. There will be three (3) prologue events that will tell aspects of the coming war and siege of the city of Cordune in the world of Kysie. Players can purchase tickets to any of the events as they are all self-contained stories (or try and play in all three). These same characters will then have a role in the event in October alongside many other players in the siege!
But that's not all that's happening with the October event! Alongside my D&D/Fantasy themed game there will be a collection of Warhammer 40K RPGs - Imperium Maledictum and Wrath and Glory also taking place with huge sets! These events will also be sponsored by Cubicle 7 (Creators of the games) and players will have a chance to go home with some great prizes! Plus we are also still working with other GMs for additional games like Call of Cthulhu or Arkham Horror that will be featured - all with amazing set-ups and scenes!
