Spring 1944. Across occupied France, rumors gather around the ruined Château de Tiffauges, where Axis occultists have unearthed fragments of a heathen power buried beneath centuries of blood and legend. Fearing a weapon capable of reshaping the war itself, the Allied command assembles a team of "irregulars" and specialists drawn from several nations. Their mission is simple in theory: infiltrate the fortress, uncover the nature of the ritual, and stop it before it reaches completion. Yet something older than the war watches from the darkness below the château. While soldiers, spies, and sorcerers struggle for control, an ancient intelligence whispers promises of ruin, seeking neither Allied victory nor Axis triumph, but the destruction of all who dare awaken it.
